The examinacion of Robert Browne of Knockinga{ } yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Dauid Browne of Ballicappoge gent in the County of wexford gent
<To the 1st inter> The examinant Deposeth & saith that the said Dauid Dwelt at Ballicappoge aforesaid about a mile distant from this examinants habitacion the first yeare & the whole time of the <b> Rebellyon and did not thence remooue into the english quarters as his nigh neighbour Nicholas Row a protestant did
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th> Hee the deponent saith that the said Dauid did act & abet the said Rebellyon & the Robberyes in the same in the first yeare thereof The deponents cause of knowledge is for that he did see the said Dauid goeing about the Countrey in Armes Looking after protestants goods & Receiuing monyes due to protestant Ministers for tithes & for that the deponent was Informed by one James Giffard in <c> the peere of Maglasse husbandman deceased that the said Dauid Browne did take vp his the said Giffardes distresse for monyes that the said Giffard was owing to a protestant for tithes & that he the said Dauid denyed to Restore the said distresse, till he had been paid the said tyth money but how much the same was the deponent doth not Remember nor to whom the same was due
<To the 5th 6th 7th 8th & 9th> Hee cannot depose
<To the 10th inter> The deponent saith that the said Dauid had a brother by Name Vallentyne Browne who was a trooper vnder the Comand of one Captain Cauanagh for <d> the Irish against the english in the yeare 1642 & afterwardes: His Cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did seauerall times see the said Vallentine in Armes with the said troope as one of them
