The examinacion of Nicholas Stafford of Ballimakeharne esquire aged about fortie foure yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Edward Siggin of Sigginstowne in the Countie of Wexford gent vpon the Interrogatories &c
<To the 1st inter> The examinant deposeth and saith that he well knoweth the said Edward Siggin for that the said Edwards habitacion is very neere to the deponent And saith that <m> the said Edward liued as Sigginstowne & elsewhere in the said County in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellion & did not thence remooue into the english quarters as the protestants adjacent to the said Edward did
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d interr> The deponent saith that from the time that the said Edward came to dwell at Sigginstowne which the said deponent conceaueth to bee in the or about the yeare 1643: the said Edward did paie his share of publicque taxes <n> for maintenance of the Irish forces in Armes the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent (to the best of his remembrance) did see the said Edward paie some of the said leuyes but the deponent is confiden{t} that the leuyes were soe vniuersall that none were admitted to liue without payment thereof
<To the 4th interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 5th interr> Hee saith that he hath seen the said Edward at seauerall publicque meetings of the Irish at the Crosse of <o> Killinnicke since the said yeare 1643: in order to the imposing & raysing cesses & settling other affayres of the Countrey
<To the 6th interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 7th interr> Hee saith that he is Confident that the said Edward did take the oath of associacion in or about the yeare 1646: which was generally ministered to all sortes of people <p> & the deponent is induced to beleiue the same for that the deponent preists in the Countrey did keep the [ ] to depart [ ] did giue the said oath to the parishioners of the deponents parish when & where the deponent was present
