The examinacion of Patr Lacy of Eniscorthy yeoman aged fifty yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth, Concerning John Synnot of Colleding in the barrony of Ballaghkeen & County of wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st Inter> The deponent saith that the said John dwelt at Colleding in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the whole time of the rebellyon <w> within a mile to this deponents habitacion from whence hee did not Remooue into the english quarters as his english and protestant Neighbours did
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th inter> The deponent saith that the said John did contribute monyes in the first yeare of the rebellyon for maintaning the Irish against the english as this deponent & others of his neighbours did, In which yeare the deponent did see the said John in Armes as a member of the trayne bands <x> Raysed and formed by the Irish in opposing & fighting against the english As a priuate gent acting and abetting the said Rebellyon in that Capacity
<To the 5th inter> The deponent saith that the deponent did see the said John Synnot frequently at the publicque meetings of the Irish assemblyes, gathered at or neere the bogg of Ittai & other places in the barrony of shelbyr Ballaghkeen in the first yeare of the Rebellyon and sithence at which meetings the Irish vsed to Consulte of laying the <y> publicque leuyes & managing other affayres Relating to the promocion of the Rebellyon against the english, His cause of knowledge appeares
<To the 6th Inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 7th Interr> The deponent saith that he beleiues the said John Synnott did take the oath of associacion it being a generall thing and <z> noe person vnder the penalty of excommunicacion exempted from the taking thereof.

<To the 9th Inter> The deponent saith that the said John was in or about the yeare 1643: Receauer of the publicque leuyes in part of the barrony of Ballaghkeen for maintenance of the Irish forces against the english: His cause of

knowledge is for that the deponent was appointed by warrants from the said John Synnot about that yeare to bee a subcollector for gathering in the sums applotted in his said warrants which this deponent did & payd the same over to the said John Synnott accordingly
<To the 10th inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 11: 12: 13> The deponent saith that the said one Richard Wadsworth an englishman that dwelt in the next village to the said John whose landes Joyned togeather And that the said Richard did remooue from his habitacion & fled to the castle of <a> Eniscorthy for safeguard of his life in the first breaking forth of the Rebellyon which said Wadsworths goods and Chattles of a very Considerable vallue were plundered and destroyed but by whom he certainely knoweth not except it were by the said John Synnot who was next neighbour to the said wadsworth, and further saith not &c
