The examinacion of Andrew Scurlocke of Roslare gent aged about twenty nyne yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Jesper Codd Patricke Ewers & Mathew Joyce of Roslare Copyhoulder{s} deceased in the County of Wexford
<To the 1st Interr> The examinant Deposeth and saith that he well knew the said Jesper Patricke & Mathew being Copyhoulders to the deponents father & afterwardes to the deponent And knoweth that the said persons <p> did continue in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellyon & did not thence remooue into the english quarters As they might haue done amongst the english & protestants Living neere them did his cause of knowledge is that appeares
<To the 2d inter> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3th & 4th Inter> Hee deposeth and saith that to his personall knowledge the said Jesper Patricke & Mathew did did contribute his their proporcions of publicque taxes reflecting on the Countrey <q> for maintenance of the Irish forces, his cause of knowledge is that all his Copyhoulders generally & without exempcion paid their contribucions duely And further saith that he <hath seen> the said Jesper Patricke & Mathew in actuall Armes for the Irish ag in opposicion to the english & as the deponent credibly heard & is very well assured the said Jesper Patricke & Mathew were inlisted in the Company of Capt Paule Turnor in the forte of Roslare in defence thereof against the english
<To the 5th interr> Hee deposeth and saith that he hath seen the said Jesper Patricke & Mathew at the publicque meetings of the <r> Irish at the Crosse of Killinickle & other meetings in order to the furthering the rebellyon to their endeauours
<To the 6th interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 7th interr> The examinant deposeth and saith that he is very well assured that the said persons did take the oath of associacion was for that the masse doores of the parish of Roslare (where the <s> said persons dwelte) were shut & the said oath ministred to all sortes of people before thier departure from masse
<To the 8th 9th 10:> hee cannot depose
