The examinacion of Edward Synot taken vpon oath concerning the aforesaid Thomas Roch
Saith That he well knowes that the said Thomas Roch was an Active person at the begining of the Rebellion to promote the same for the Irish against the English, & soe Contynued not only for the first yeare, but seuerall yeares after till hee dyed, which was in the d fort of duncano{n} at the tyme Collonell Cooke beseiged the same the said Roch: being then Governor of the said fforte This Examinant further saith That the said Tho: Roch was a Captain at the first begining of the warre & had a Company against the same within the first yeare in ffe 41 & was present with his said Company with other <n> of the Irish Companyes as a principall man when about July after the rebellion about one hundred English belonging to the fforte were kild & drowned & a one Lieutenant Esmond with 14 more of that English partie were taken prisoner by the said Tho: Roch who hangd 7 of them the next daie, & sent the Lieutenant & the rest to Wexford
Hee also saith that the said Tho: was also with his Company about August after when fforty <o> of the English were also killed which belonged to the said ffort, ffurther deposeth not.
