The examinacion of Patricke Lacy of Eniscorthy yeoman aged fiftie yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Bran Murphy of Ollordleigh in the Barrony of Ballaghkeen and County of wexford gent deceased
<To the 1st interr> The Examinant deposeth that the said Bran Murphy dwelt at the in the Irish quarters all the time of the rebellion during his life, from whence he did not remooue into the english quarters as <s> seauerall english and protestants in that barrony did His cause of knowledge is for that the deponents habitacion was within two miles or thereabouts to the said Brans dwelling
<To the 2d interr> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th inter> The deponent saith that the said Bran did In the first yeare of the Rebellion and sithence contribute monyes & prouisions towardes the maintenance of the Irish Armie As this deponent & others of the his Neighbours did This deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was a subcollector of the of the Irish leuyes about the yeare 1643: or 1644: for maintenance of the Rebells then in Armes against the english
<To the 5th inter> the deponent saith that this deponent did see the said Bran Murphy at seauerall publicque meetings of the Irish Rebells at or nigh the bogg of Ittay in the first yeare of the <u> said Rebellyon & seauerall times sithence at which meetings the cesses were made & other things appointed for promoting of the said Rebellyon against the english

<To the 7th inter> The deponent saith that he beleiues the said Bran did take the oath of associacion it being a generall thing & none excused from <w> the taking thereof vnder the penalty of excommunication

<To the 9th interr> The deponent saith that the said Bran was about the yeare 1643 Receauer of the publicque leuyes for the Irish in parte <x> of the barrony of Ballaghkeen, His cause of knowledg{e} is in that the deponent by warrant signed by the said Bran leuyed the said monyes expressed in the said warrant & paid the same over to the said Bran Murphy for the

maintenance of the Irish Rebells in Armes against the English.
<To the 10th interr> The deponent saith that the said Bran had a son by Name Murtagh Murphy who was a souldier in Sir Thomas Esmonds Regiment in opposing and fighting against the english where the said Murtagh Continued till the Irish submitted and laid downe Armes This deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Murphy at his Coming <y> in with the Rest of the Irish at their laying downe of Armes as aforesaid & for that the said Murtagh told the deponent thereof & his further cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said Murtagh among the Irish at the bogg of Bowyer the place of the Toryes vsuall Concourse
