The Examinacion of Nicholas Connor of Ballinuellegh gent aged sixty yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Owen Murcho of Rahindarricke gent deceased & shane oge Murchoe his sonne in the Barrony of Ballaghkeen & County of wexford gent vpon the Interrogatoryes annexed to the Comission of enquiry
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant Deposeth that the said Owen dwelt at Rahindarricke & shane oge dwelt at Clone in the barrony of & County aforesaid about two miles distant from the deponents <e> then residence where they the said Owen & shane Continued without remoouing themselues or either of them into the english quarters as Thomas ward a protestant & his english tennants did
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th inter> The deponent saith that the said shane oge did contribute his person togeather with seauerall of his allyes & others in Armes for the Irish against the english in the first <f> beginning of the rebellyon: The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent did see the said shane with seauerall men in Armes marching about the Countrey of whom the said shane had the Comand and was by them called Captayne And further saith that the said shane oge Murcho Joyned himselfe and his forces to one Dermot mc Dowling Cauanagh a Notorious plunderer in the said first yeare of the rebellyon his Cause of knowledge appeares
<To the 5th inter> And further saith that the said shane oge did act, & abet the said Rebellyon and the robberyes therein Comitted vpon the english & protestants in the first breaking forth of the said Rebellyon and did take <g> away (without any authority knowne to this deponent) a great Number of sheep of the goods of sir walsingam Cooke knight and certaine cowes of the goods of the Ralph waddington an englishman for both which the said shane oge was sued by the said Sir walsingham & waddington seauerally and made them satisfacion for the same as the said shane oge told the deponent
