The examinacion of Edward Synnott of Dungulph gent aged about thirtie one yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Peirce Synnot of Cranebredie in the barrony of Goary and Countie of wexford gent deceased vpon the Interrogatoryes Exhibited on the behalfe of the Comonwealth
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant saith & deposeth That the said Peirce dwelt partely at Corroghtloe & partely at Cranebredie in the Countie aforesaid in the Irish quarters the whole time of <a> the rebellyon without remooving himselfe into the english quarters, as Sir Walsingham Cooke knight Mr Tristeen & other english & protestants in them partes did The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the Deponent was frequently with the said Peirce as well at his dwelling howses aforesaid as in wexford seauerall times during the said Rebellyon.
<To the 2d Inter> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th Inter> The deponent saith That he beleiues the said Peirce did pay & contribute moneys & prouisions towardes the <b> releife maintenance & supporte of the Irish forces the first yeare of the Rebellyon he being a wealthy man
<To the 5: 6: 7 8th & 9th> Hee cannot depose
<To the 10th Inter> The Deponent saith that the said Peirce had two sons by name Dauid and walter Synnot which said Dauid was in the first beginning of the said Rebellyon called Major & acted in that capacitie vnder the Comand & <c> in the Regiment of Sir Morgan Cauanagh knight to whom the Deponent was seruant at that time: The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the Deponent being with the said Sir Morgan Cauanagh at his lyeing with the Irish forces against Duncannon forte keeping the Lord Esmond & the english forces therein in the first sumer after the Rebellyon brake forth this deponent did see the said Dauid Synnot draw vp his Companie & march with them to and from the watch & heard the Sir Morgan Cauanagh & the Rest of the Irish officers call the

said Dauid Major & the deponent saith That the deponent Continued there with his said master for the space of six weekes togeather & obserued the said Dauids actions And afterwardes the deponent did see and know the said Dauid to be entertained harboured & releiued by the said Peirce his father, And the deponent further saith That walter Synnot the other sonne of the said Peirce (as the deponent heard) was a Captaine for the Irish against the english since the Lord generall Cromwells Reducing of wexford, being before his taking vpon him that Comand was a trustee in the <d> barronie of Shelmalyre for applotting & raysing the contribucion for the english Armie as this deponent Likewise heard, & further saith not &c
