Robert Browne of Knockingall yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Jesper Prendergast gent deceased deposeth & saith that the deponent did see the said Jesper about Christmas 1641 on horsebacke with sword, pistoll, pike or halbert as a priuate gent among the Irish that at that time were laying seige to Duncannon forte And the deponent further saith that he did see the foresaid Jesper personally engage with the Irish against a party of the english that issued out of Duncannon forte about the beginning of March 1641: on horse back with his sword drawne And the deponent further saith that the said Jesper informed the deponent that he the said Jesper was one of the partie that was at the killing of Lieutenant Esmond Treuisoe & <t> a certayne Company of souldyers with him at a place neere Dungulph At which time the foresaid Jesper with his owne handes did kill one Ellin Deuereux who was wife to a souldyer in the forte of Duncannon as the said Jesper told the deponent And the said Jesper likewise at vpon his said Relacion to this deponent told him that if he the said Jesper had soe good an horse as Luke Keating of Kilcowan then & there at the said fight had, he would haue performed good seruice And further saith that the deponent did see the said Jesper present at seauerall meetings of the Irish, as well the first yeare as sithence at Knocbray the Crosse of Baldenstowne & other places of publicque meetings in the County of wexford & further cannot depose
