The Examinacion of William Stafford of Tamon gentleman aged thirty nyne yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Anthony Cavanagh of Ballinruddy in the barrony of Goary gent
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant saith that he well knew the said Anthony, who dwelt at Ballinruddy aforesaid or elsewhere in the Irish quarters the whole time of the warre without betaking himselfe to the english quarters as Sir walsingham Cooke knight <x> Edward Chichester esquire Abell Ram gentleman & others that were english & protestants in that parte of the Countrey did The Deponents cause of knowledge appeares
<To the 2d Inter> Hee cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th Interr> The deponent saith that the said Anthony did contribute his person & aduise of the Irish against the english & was by being a member of the County Councell the first yeare of the warre, in that Capacity I signing warrants with others of the said councell for raysing monyes & <y> aduising of other thinges that that did relate to the carrying on of the warre & defence of the countrey against the english The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the Deponent was Clearke to that Councell in that yeare and did see the said Anthony sitting and acting with that Councell in manner aforesaid and further saith not &c
