Edward Synot of Roslare aged 44 yeares being duly sworne & examined concerning the aforesaid Richard Synot
<Saith> That hee well knowes that the said Richard Synot was with the Irish forces that kept in the English at the fort of duncannon, as a private gentleman with horse & Armes sword & that hee Contynued at Bourkstowne & Shilbeggan <k> where Captain Tho: Rossitirs Company laye (to whom this examinant was Servant) for the space of ffourteene dayes or thereabouts which was in the Moneth of March Anno 41 This examinant being demanded whether the said Rich: Synot was present with the Irish forces that killed Lieutenant Treviso & some of the English soldiers of the fort of duncannon as they returned from dungulpe <back> to the ffort in the Moneth of March aforesaid Saith that the said Rich: was with them at Shilbeggan the very tyme that the Alarme was given of the English being at dungulpe but

(which two places are not much aboue a Myle distante) but whether hee marched with them to the place they mett the English & were present at the killing of them this examinant cannot certaynely remember but knowes that Mr William Esmond James Codd of Cloist, both gentlemen of the barrony fforth where the said Rich: Synot dwelt & the said Rossiters Company was raised, were present at <l> the killing the said English, but were neither not officers or soldiers in paie & reteyned for the Irish to this deponents knowledge
