The examinacion of Peter Hooper of Passage in the County of waterford gent aged about forty two yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning the said James Rochford of Taylerstowne in the said County gent
<To the 1st interr> The examinant Deposeth and saith that the said James dwelte at Taylerstowne in the Irish quarters the whole time of the rebellyon from whence he did not remooue himselfe into the forte of Duncannon or other partes <c> of the english quarters as he might haue done as well as s ir Arthur Loftus knt Nichas Loftus esquire & other protestants dwelling neere him did
<To the 2d interr> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d & 4th interr> The deponent saith that the said James Rochford did contribute his person & Armes in the acting and abetting the said rebellyon in the first yeare & before the 10th of November 1642 to the best of his remembrance the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent & a partie of the english Coming out of the forte to the landes of Corrogh<d> more were met & fought with by a partie of the Irish Consisting of three Companyes, when where & of which Company the said James was & the deponent did see him there on horsebacke with an horse mans speare in his hands & what other Armes the deponent remembers not at which time & in which fight one Peirce Prendergast a trooper of the english party were was killed wounded but knoweth not of any Comand that the said James had then or since: which time the deponent Conceiueth to bee about the Michaelmas after the warre brake forth & further saith not &c
