William Stafford of Tamon gent being duely sworne & examined Concerning the within said Patr Roach deposeth that the said Patr (to the best of his remembrance) was & acted as a member of the County Councell in the first yeare of the warre being appointed thereunto by and on the behalfe of the Comoners of Bargie, & further saith that the said Patricke was in or about the yeares 1644 & thence forward one of the Comissioners of the Armie for raysing monyes for maintenance <g> of the Irish forces then in Armes against the english The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was Clearke of the County Councell & sometymes Clearke to & othertimes a Comissioner of the Armie himselfe acting with others, & further cannot depose
