William Talbott of Wexford yeoman aged fortie nyne yeares or thereabouts Deposeth concerning the said Charles Redmond That in the yeare 1649: after that the County of wexford had Imbraced the protecion of his Excellency the Lord generall Cromwell & became contributary to his Armie, the said Charles being at that time vnder protecion & a contributor did run out to the Irish and became a Leiutenant for the Irish against the Ir English in the Regiment of Sir Thomas Esmond In which capacity the said Charles did act till the Submission of the Irish Armie vppon Articles The Deponents cause of knowledge is for that the said Charles did vsually quarter in the villadge where the <f> Examinant then dwelte and did receiue of this examinant his share of contribucion which he was constrayned to pay them towardes their maintenance And further saith that after the said Charles tooke vp Armes in manner aforesaid a [ ] Cornet of horse in the troope of Captain Warren (an officer of the english partie) was killed at Glascarrigg and as this Deponent heard by the generall relacion of his neighbours the said Charles was the onely man that killed the said Cornet, whose name the Examinant knoweth not & further cannot depose.
