The Examinacion of Major Edward Aston of Killbarry in the County of Waterford taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Thomas Rosceter of Rathmacknee in the County of Wexford esquire
Vpon the Whole matter of the Interrogatoryes the examinant Deposeth & saith that the said Thomas Rosceter was in actuall Armes with & of the Irish rebells that beseiged sumoned & tooke the Castle of Tinterne out of this deponents possession in or about the moneth of July in the yeare 1642 this deponent being placed in the said castle with a partie of [ ] men to the Number of thirty or thereabouts for defence thereof against the Rebells in behalf of the english Interest, And further saith that the said Rosceter was one of the hostages or pledges that were giuen by & on the Irish behalfe for this deponents & his parties secure & inoffensiue conduct to ffetherd, where this deponent & the people with him <z> were to take shipping to goe thence into England Munster the said Rosceter being one of the cheife that was at the seige aforesaid among the Rebells the deponents cause of knowledge appeares in that he did see the said Thomas Rosceter then & there in Armes with the said Rebells & further saith not
