Mathew Wadding of Pettitstowne yeoman aged thirty yeares or thereabouts being duely sworne & examined Concerning the foresaid Thomas Rosceter of Rathmaknee esquire deposeth that the said Thomas Rosceter was a Captaine of foote for the Irish against the english in the first beginning of the Countrey Rebellyon In whose Company the deponent serued as a priuate souldyer being prest thereunto And further saith that the said Rosceter and Company were at the seige of Duncannon forte in or about Christmas 1641: & along time afterwardes During which seige, & about Easter after the said Captain Rosceter in his owne person & a partie of his & other Companyes (whereof this deponent was one) drew forth from the Camp at shelbeggan towardes a place called <w> Dungulp against which [ ] some english out of Duncannon forte were then shooting, by which partie then vnder the said Rosceters Comand one Lieutenant Treuiso & some of the english with him (how many he doth not know) were killed & with them a woeman that bellonged to the said forte And that the said Rosceters Company was among other Companyes of the Irish) at the killing of Captain Aston & some english at the Hooke that bellonged to Duncannon forte which was about July 1642: but that the said Rosceter was not there in his person at that time His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was then & there present as one of the said Rosceters Company and further saith not &c
