The Examinacion of John Keating of Baldenstowne gent aged thirtie one yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Patricke Roach of Ambrostowne in the County of wexford gent
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant Deposeth & saith that the said Patricke dwelt at Ambrostowne in the County aforesaid in the Irish quarters the first yeare & the whole tyme of the Rebellyon & from thence did not remooue as into the english quarters as one Mr Humpheryes a protestant <x> minister liuing at Ambrostowne aforesaid and other protestants Inhabiting neere him the said Patricke His the deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent dwelte neere to & was well acquainted with the said Patricke Roch
<To the 2d inter> The deponent saith that the said Patricke Roach vpon the Lord generall Cromwells approach with his Armie towardes Wexford the said deserted his habitacion at Ambrostowne aforesaid & fled into out of the said <y> County into the more remote quarters of the Irish & hath Neuer sithence returned to his said former Residence The deponents cause of knowledge is for that the deponent dwelling about three miles distant from the said Roach his habitacion knew him to desert & be absent from the same, as aforesaid
<To the 3d & 4 inter> The deponent saith that the said Patricke did not onely actually contribute himselfe & his substance, but did alsoe of signe to warrants for the raysing of <z> men prouisions & monyes for promoting the said rebellyon as a member of the County Councell in the first yeare of the said rebellyon, & in that capacity did as much as in him lay to act & abet the said foresaid rebellyon The deponents cause of knowledge is

for that the said deponent hath seen some warrants signed by the said Patricke Roach & others of the County Councell to the ends & purposes within said
<To the 5: 6: 7 & 8th> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 9th Inter> The deponent saith that the said Patricke was and acted as a member of the County Councell in the said first yeare of the Rebellyon, his cause of knowledge to that <a> particular formerly appeares & further he saith that hee hath seen the said Patricke to sit & act with the foresaid Councell in the towne of wexford
<To the 10th Inter> The deponent saith that the said Patricke had a sonne by Name John Roach who acted in the capacity of a Leiutenant of ffoote in the Irish seruice about the yeare <b> (1645: & thence forward till the said John was killed The deponents cause of knowledge is for that hee the said John Roach was quarterred vpon the Countrey with the souldiers vnder his Comand & for that the deponent hath seen the said John & his souldyers in the countrey & is confident that the said John had recourse vnto & was countenanced by his said father in his actings aforesaid
