Examinacon of william Connel taken before the Court against Thomas Archer
The said william Connel of the Cittie of kilkenny gent being duely examined saith in the Begininig of the Rebellion the was then a traine band mixt of protestants & papists in the Cittie of Kilkenny which did watch and ward by turnes and afterwards fearing to bee surprized by the <A> Papists the protestants with drew themselves to their horses to save themselves and their goods and watched not with them anie more: and this examinant heard of a peticon that was exhibited to the Lord Mongarret against the protestants in Kilkenny, but knoweth nothing of it particulary And saith that his wife told him that and further saith not
