Examinacions had & taken befor Collonell Robert Sanders & Isaiah Thomas Esquire this 26d day of Nouember 1652
<1> John Barry of Ballyreah Aged Aged about 30 yeares Deposeth That he the Examinant being seruant to one James Pike liueing at a place called Bally Anker house in the Barony of Cosmore about the begining of the Rebellion 9 yeares past did see diuers Persons with <B> Armes the Comanders of which were Collonell Buttler & one Captain ffennell which said ffennell as this Deponent heard stormed the said house & within the space of 2 houre toke the same & therevpon toke out of the sayd house ab eight seuerall Per men, three women & 4 Children whereof Croker and his wife were parte of them & drewe them out of in the feild & presently thereupon this deponent did see some of the said Partie [with] whose names he knowes not take and atach one James Pike th is Examinants master & John Pike & hanged them vpon 2 seuerall Carres & at the same tyme this Deponent saw the said Christopher Croker shott to death as alsoe presently thereupon the other 5 persons were hanged by the same Partie And this deponent further saith that the said Butler & ffennell that before the Surrender of the said house did assume & promise to the said Christopher Croker then Comander of being in the same house in the behalfe of all Persons then present that hee the said Croker & all the rest of the said Persons should depart liue peaceably in the same house or departe in peace to Lismoore where there was then a Garrisson his cause of knowledge is that he this Deponent was then present in the said house when it was stormed as aforesaid and further saith not
