The examination of Hugh mc Phillip Ryan late of Laffany in the Barony of Kilnemanagh yeoman taken before Colonell Salomon Richards at Clonmell the 5th day of November 1652.
It being demanded of him whether he went vnder the command of Phillip ô Dwyer of Dondrom in December 1641 into Cashell. he confesseth he did, but had noe command He sayth that he heard that divers English were there murdered by Phillip mc Thomas ô Dwyer, James Roch and others of that party, but he saw none killed, and denyeth that he this examinant had any hand in the murder or plunder of any, And sayth that when they were going to Cashell, he did not immagin that they were going about any mischiefe, nor did he heare the designe spoken of. And further saith not.
