The Examination of Donogh m o Dwyer of Cullinvre in the County of Tipperary taken before vs the 25th of August 1652.
This Examinant aged twenty eight yeares or theyr abouts sworne & Examined saith that he was att Cashell and Came thether the Saime day that Coll. phillip oDwyer with his party Entred Cashell & quarterd att Simond Salles howse in Cashell wheare the said phillip allso quartered, & saith he is the sonn & heyre of Charles oDwyer of <A> Collinvre in the County aforesaid that he did not then beare bare any Armes or Euer sence, and that he then Came thether to Se what was don & further saith that being in theyr his bed: att Cashel aforesaid Erly in the morning of the first of Janvary 1641 they were he was awakened with an alarum of the murthering of some of the English theyr whearvppon the said phillip Arose arose and went out but what he ther did this Examinent Knoweth not, but saith that either that day or the next the said phillip hand hanged one of the Irish for som Murther then Commited. & further saith that phillip Magrah of bleane in the barrony of ormond that he was one own of the first and principall of who then began the Murthers of the English, & that he heard that one James Roch of A tailor liuing and on the lands of goulenbridg belonging to Doctor fenell neare goulin bridg was actiue in the Murthers aforesayd, his Caus of Knowlidg was that he was inquisitiue of the actters of the said Murthers and he hard as he haith Deposid, and further saith not.
