The deposicion of Gabriell Maureley of Castlyons hatter taken before me this 6th of december 1652 beinge duely sworne vpon the holy Evangelist and examined deposeth and sayth that he heard that Mr Richard Seller and his wife with divers others where murdered att kilnenira but by whome he knoweth not but sayth that he did see one dermott รด Sullevan bringe a hatt band to sell to this deponent, which was Mr Sellers hatt band and this deponent bought itt of him, and that he did see Joane Sullevant sister to the sayde Dermott weare a whyttle and a wastcoaste belonginge to the sayde Mrs Seller his Cause of knowledge is for that he this deponent did liue in the house with Mr Seller and his wife before they were murdered and knoweth what he hath deposed to be true. And ffurther Saythe that a litle before they were murdered as aforesayde there were some of the Irish Rebells attempted to robb James Oldfeild his house directly over the lane where this deponent then dwelt, amongst which he heard the next morneinge that Mr Jeromy Ross <A> was there, for there beinge one (drew) in the house with James Oldfeild (whoe was afterwards) murdered when Mr Seller was murdered) sayde that Mr Ross Called vnto him and sayde I ame Gossipp Ross open the doore and yow shall haue quarter w vpon which (drew) offered to open the doore but James Oldfeild tould if hed did attempte to open the doore he should be the first man that should dye And ffurther sayth not save onely twoe Children which was on the [ ] of a mow reeke of Corne in the house whoe did lye there the whole night & they tould this deponent that William Murphy & his ffather were there present
