277 [ ] An account of the said fower pounds borrowd & lent to him Coll francis Wheeller Commissioner The within Examined further sayeth being further demanded whither ever he heard that the within John Burrowes was ever accused or charged with the sendeing of any Intelligence to the English, or carried before mc Carthy Reagh to any of his Assemblyes or Rendesvouze to Iniskeyne or else where, or that there was any suspiction soe much as any suspicion of him or any of his family for any such Correspondencies with the English as aforesaid, or that ever mcInicrimine or any other became his Bayle vpon any such Account, he answereth possitiuely that from the first day that John Burrowes was by some of his owne frenids & Neighbours conveighed to McIncrymines Castell for his better safeguard & protection, he this Examinantt never knew or heard of any such thinge till to the day of his death And this examinantt further sayeth that in some short tyme after the death of Burrowes, he heard it reported in the Country that <A> McInicrymine or some of his people should report that Burrowes wife should give a summe of money’s to some body he doth not well know whither man or woman to goe to the English with Intelligence to come & besiege his Castell: And further sayeth not./.
