The Examinacion of John mc Teige adged twentie eight yeares or thereabouts taken before mee the first daye of december 1652 concerning the Murther Comitted on his ffather Teige mc dermod aboute the first yeare of the warr saith that the night when the saide Teige mc dermod was murthered This deponent meeting with one Mur ryne Mureeartagh Roe รด Mulcahae (whoe hee knewe) called to him for mercye his answere was aswell as hee made an end of his ffather soe hee woulde make an end of him this deponent & therevppon drew his skeane & Runn with it att this deponent & hee <A> Lifting vpp his knee Receaved a thrust of the said skeane in his knewe & presently after gave him another thrust quett thoroughe the side of his knee & another in his Left Arme And this deponent further said that hee fearing the inhumanitye of the said Murryne Mureeartagh Rann in & incloased with him threew him downe in a ditch and therevppon made his escape & the said Murryne cryed oute with a Lowde voice saying followe the Rogue for it is better to kill this younge Rogue then the ould Rogue his ffather./
