The Examination of Donnogh McDaniell Carthy aged sixtty yeares taken Sept: 10th 1642
Saith that aboute Shraftortyde 1641 Dermott McDaniell Carthy alleas mc neCrimine tooke Into his Coustody the persons of John Burrowes of Ballinascarty with his wife & three children with much with other goods And Ingaged himselfe, for theire saufty (As this Examinant wase Informed by the said John Burrowes) who demanded of him the reason whay he would not come to stay with him beeing his Gossoper & soe good A freind And the Burrowes replyed Mcnecrimine had A Castell And had promissed to keepe him harmlesse to the vttmost of his power, And this Examinant further saith that aboute three mounthes after the very day that the Englishe tooke kilbrittane Castell, mc Necrimine meete with McCarthy Reigh at the tope of killvarricg And demanded what he should do with John Burrowes, McCarthy replyed as this examinant was e inf o rmed what haue I to doe with yow of him doe with him what yow will hang him if yow will. And this Examinant further saith that the said Burrowes with his wife & the one of his sonnes named John; wase hanged that verie day by some of mc ne crimins people vntill they weare dead, the other two children beeing A Girle Gyrille And A Boy of aboute eight yeares of age weare Left vp & downe Amongest mc necrimins pepole; And further saith nott;
