The Examination of John Harison of Polelong in the Co: of Corke taken November 26. 1652
This Examinant, sworne, saith that before the begining of the Rebellion he lived at Nucestowne in the said Co: That after he lived at since the rebellion Bandon, where being a soldier in Capten Woodhouse his company, he & meeteing at Bandon withsteevens a shoemaker who beene at macnecrimines Castle fo This Examinant enquired of him concerning John Burroghes & his family who were in that Castle, he the said Burroughs being the Examinants godfather: the said Stevens told the Examinant that the said Burrowes his wife & child of or children (the examinant knoweth not whether) were hangd by mcnecrimine. And that when the said Burroughs was to be executed by as aforesaid the said mcnecrimine told him that he was overpowerd by a stronger party & that he must be hangd: wherevnto the said Burrowes said, This is not the promise which you made me, or else I might have gonne away with the rest of my friends Macnecrimine said, he could not helpe it. And the said <B> Burroughs being to be executed desired a favour from the said mcnecriminch, which was that the said Burroughs his two children which were at the said mcnecriminches house should be convoyed safe to Bandon & that some gold to the value of twenty pounds or thereabouts which he the said Burrowes had them about hem should be given to the said children; which the said Mcnecrimines, did promise to performe: And this examinant saith that the said รด Steevens who made this relation to him was a shoemaker workeing in mcnecreminchs Castle at a ti & after he had thence escaped to Badon related what is aforesaid to him the examinant. And farther saith that he knoweth mcnecriminch, that he is a lame man, & that none others but he is knowne by the name of mcnecrimine that he did ever heare: And farther saith not
