ffor as much as there is an aspersion cast vppon McInycrymine among the English that he vndertooke to harbor and saue harmles John borrowes of Ballynaskartie & his wife and children in his Castle from the Irish forces at the begininge of these trobles, & that afterwards he most vnhumanelie hanged them, all which is but amire false suggestion or suspition of hem, in the first place, John borowes and his wife for treacherie comitted against me and the Contrye, were apprehended and brought before me, my forces being then at Iniskeine, and the matter proued against them, Notwithstandinge I baille{} them to McInycrymine to haue them foorthcominge vppon demaund which past on vntill they comitted a second and a more haynous treacherie then {the} former, vppon that a partie of my souldiers tooke them out of McInycry{mine} his Castle and brought them before me, and beinge examined, confessed theire one treacherie vppon that I reffered them with theire confession to the Comannders of my forces, who censured them to suffer for theire mallice and treasson, and McInycrymine was not at home when they were taken out of his Castle by my soldiers, neither was he present nor priuie to theire censure nor sufferinges to my knowledge, as I dare vndertake vppon my reputation and creditt.
