The Examination of dan o Keeue Aged 32 years being dwly sworne and Examined saith the 23 of Sept 1652
<A> Thatt At the first year of the warr, hee was att doundaniell Castle and ther hee saw three Inglishmen browght in to the Castle whose names were Rich Comes senior and Rich Comes Jwnior and Jo. Baker In ffiny mac glibins Chamber and Abowtt and Hower or tow in the night they wear taken out of the Castle and Caried hard by to A Howse where Mr Holands liued wher was som trees and ther they hang Jo. Baker first and then Rich Combs the Elder but the yong Come ofered to give tend pounds for his Liff to Donoh oc morly and thatt the said donoh oc morly went with many others and this Examinantt Amongst the rest th to the said Combs his hous, wher the said Coms had hid the mony in the ground and when the said Combs Toke owt the mony to giue for his Ransom the said donah oc morly tooke itt Away from him, it being Thirty fiue pound as This Examinantt heard, Thatt they deuided itt Amongst them and hee this Examinatt hard that feing mac glibin hadd the third partt and the men that went with them had som twelu pencs som 2 shilling som halfe Acrown butt this Examinantt thowght to have A shar and that do n n o donah oc morly ofered this Examinantt half A Crown bwt Hee reffused thinking hee, shold gett more and then they browght the said Combs to the place whear they hang his father and then hang him and this Examinantt be further demanded why hee shold Take An partt of the mony when they had promised his Life for his mony he Answerd he knoweth nott but hee <B> wold be glad of som of the mony if hee Cold gett itt and further saith that macCarty Came that night to the Castle and was Angry with donoh mc morly butt mor angry with finy mc glibbin butt neuer punished any of them for itt and This Examinantt farther saith that This fing macglibbin had the Comand of the Town befor and now as much Comand in the Castle as Any other and that this Examinantt doth verily beleeue Thatt ffiny macglibbin might haue saued ther Liwes if he wold, and the reson of itt was thatt yong Teig glibbin wold haue saued the yong Combs but thatt they Took him from him by fors and Hang him
