The Examinacion of Daniell Mcffynyn Carty taken vpon oath the viijo of September 1652
Sayth that in the beginning of the warres he was present at kilbritton Castle, where he then saw (the time he precisely remembreth not!) but it was in the first yeare of the Rebellion) one William Goosan hang’d vpon a Gallowes erected close vnto the said Castle, and that he saw the places gallowes where they were Buried, And this Examinant farther saith, that he saw no gallowes there till about that time, And this Examinant further Examined saith, that he did see another English man hangd there at the same time; And that there were three english men more hangd vpon that Gallowes about that time, and that Brian mcSwiny Bellogh, was vnder mcCarty Reagh & by him appointed to ward in the Castle, at that time,
And this Examinant further saith that he hath frequently heard that one John Burroughs & his wife, & one of his Children were in the Harvest time first after the beginning of the Rebellion hang’d by Daniell Dermod mc Carty alias mc ne Crimin!
<B> And this Examinant farther saith that about the same time, he heard, strongly reported in the Castle of Kilbritten, where this Examinant then liued that ffynyn mcKidee & Cormuck ô Daily who were then soldiers there liues at Garran killed an aged gentleman one Mr Stepny who Liued at Garry-Loucas in Coursis Country
