The examination of Teag Oge Maghan of Murray beinge sworne saith that aboute 1642 he saw one John Oage <A> Crowlay & Dannill mc Teage Totan Alis Collan cominge with Joh: Phips an Englishman beinge A presoner to Ma: Carties Campe beinge then att Manch & the verie same day towards night who met the said John Crowlay with the presoner goinge oute of the Campe & Asked the said Crowlay what newes now & the said Crowlay towld this deponant that he had butt the presoner for satisfaction for his pray & that he the said Crowlay did wish that he had one to hange the said John Phips becawse he had himself was in quarter & therfor durst not to hang him & said that he would giue the Cloathes of the said presoner to any one that would hange him and then one John McDonno beinge A ffellow sowlder of this deponants said that he would hange him soe that he might haue his Cloathes and the said Crowlay did deliuer the presoner to the said John McDonno who promesed in my hearing to hange him the said Phips the next morninge soe they wente there way altogether towards kilcascon Land and Dur: Teage Mahan alias Nenogh was in thare Company, and the said John McDonno towld this deponant afterwards that he the said John McDonno brought the presoner to the Lands of knocks that night which was the Land of the said Dur: Teage Maghan & the next morninge he & others hanged the said Phips
