The Examinacion of Teige O Murrye aged 40 years taken the 10th of September:/
Sayeth: That about the begining of the warrs he well remembreth that being at Rendesvouz at the Manch where McCarthy Reagh was Commander in Cheife one John Oge O Cruoly & daniel macd o Totan{e} brought in prisoner one John Phips an Englishman, And that in the evening as they were an examinant was goeing from the Rendesvouz with John McDonnough & Knougher O knock{} his Comrades & some others whose names he doth not well remember John Oge O Cruoly & dermond daniel o Totan, with the said Phips beinge in their Company as they were passing over the Lands of kilcasson this deponent heard John Oge O Cruoly se[ ] bid this Examinant & his said Comrades hang the said Phips & take his Cloaths for their paines, but vpon the mocion of some whose name he well remembers not to lett forbeare him till the next day in regard it was soe late, this Examinantt according with his foresaid Comrades according to John oge’s Commands tooke him into their Custody that night & hanged him the next morneing day aboute one of the Clocke vpon the lands of knockacullyn This Examinantt further sayeth that John mc donnough and Knougher o Knocke are both dead, And further he sayeth not. He further sayeth That he himselfe was noe soldier at that tyme: And further sayeth not:/
