Thomas Copinger Esquire beinge Dully Sworen and examyned before me Deposseth as followeth
Thatt hee hath Credybly heard from Divers thatt William Barrye of Aghye havinge the two housses of Buttlerstowne full of <A> Lishlye Coarne and the same in Caske; hee Ordered and Left one Edward Wilkings keep and Oversier of the saied howsses and Coarne, and to preserve itt from the English partye, And thatt the saied Wilkings hath beene Tretcherously Murthered by some of the saied William Barryes servants to prevente his Informacion against the saied Barry and his servants acctings in the begininge of the Warres;
This Deponent ffurther sayeth and deposseth thatt hee hath Credybly heard from Divers thatt the saied William Barry beinge a verry acctive man att Cloghnelyftie on the Day of Battle there thatt hee tooke in ayonge English Gentleman, and gave him Quarter and promyssed to preserve his Leiffe Whervppon hee sente the saied younge man by some of his the saied Barries servants to <B> his howse att Lisslye whither hee was brought, and [ ] nottwithstandinge the saied Quarter geaven, the saied younge man was hanged at the steple of Lishlye by the saied Williams servants This deponett further sayeth thatt the saied William Barry well knowenge thatt his servants hath Comitted those foule and Vncristian lyke murthers hee never aprehended the saied Murtherers or brought them to the Tryall of Lawe
