<x 4)> Henry White of Ringrone aged 55 yeares or thereabouts being sworne & examined saith he knew one William <B> Gussam a seruant to Mr Marsh, carryed from Oldcourt house by Irish Rebells of to Kilbrittan, & there hanged. MacCarty Rea then being there Commanding, & alsoe saith there was a boy carryed along with him, whome they hanged there likewise; & after he was cut downe & put into a hole, & haueing some life in him, they knockt him in the head with stones. Garrett Hornets wife can giue in better euedence. And further this deponent saith that Mr John Stepney was murthered vpon the land of John James Carny in Coursyes county, neare Carnys his house.) by men belongeing to MacCarty Rea in Kilbrittan Castle, & saith it was generally reported that one Skannell of Clannakilty was <C> the man that murthered him one of them, which Skannell is yet liueing as he beleeues but where he knowes not: Bettrice Dillon of the docke can giue further testimony. alsoe this deponent knowes that Arthur Glanfield was likewise murthered vpon the said Carnys land by MacCartys men of Kilbrittan And further saith that John Lawrence a Sawyer Thomas Bryan & one Joslin, were murthered vpon John Brownes

land & neare by [ ] by McCartys partyes, this deponent was in their company that day & made an escape. one <A> Teige mc dermond of Roches towne was one of that party for this deponent tooke notice of him which Teige mac dermond nowe liues within the quarters, but where he knows not at present and saith that all the said murthers were committed within one month in the first yeare of the Rebellion, & further saith not.
