<A> The Examination of John oge Hurrlye taken vpon oath Sept 11th
Saith that In the first yeare of the warr he then beeing A souldier vnder the Command of one Captain Bryan McSweeny, then Commander of Kilbrittane Castell, wase by the said Captain Commanded with the rest of the Company to follow A partie of the Englishe that had taken A pray neere Coalemaine; In the persuith of who whereof one Sennockes Englishe man whose name (As this Examinant wase Informed, wase Sennockes; wase slaine by some of the Companie & his head = <B> cutt off And carried to Kilbrittane Castell (where it wase sett vpon the wall, And that Capt. Sweeny marched with this Examinant And the rest of the Companie to the foresaid Castell: And that he it the said Captain did see & know the head of the foresaid Sennockes, wase carried as aforesaid. And further saith that he heard that Sennocks desyered quarter quarter And further saith that there wase Another English man slaine that day whose name he knoweth nott, And this Examinant further saith that he well remembreth that one Goosain & two more English men weare hanged at the Gallowes neere Kilbrittane Either by Captain Sweenys order or Daniell oge Hurrlys he well knoweth not which And further saith nott;
