The examination of Joane Daniell, alias Claddocke, taken vpon oath the 10o of September 1652
Saith that in the first yeare, & beginning, of the Rebellion shee dwelt neere Iniskeene Castle, and that shee knew one Deborah fford a young maid about that was dwelling with in the Castle of Eniskeene, among the English, And that the said deborah hauing left some Cloathes at one Mr Roaches house who dwelt about a mile from the said Castle, shee went thither for them and this Examinant saith that when shee come to them they tooke the said mayd & hangd her vpon a tree, and close by one simon Core his house, and within muskett shott of the said Roachs house, And this Examinant saith that the people frequently reported that liued nee one Maurice ô <A> Reegane a Brogkemaker, was one that hangd her, who liued neere the said Roaches, & vpon his Land; And this Examinant coming after where A the said Roches was speaking, about this thing; this examinant said to John Roach & his Brother David, what did the poore maid do; why did he kill Deborah to whom they replied in Anger to her, for pitying her the said Deborah; & said twas no matter, that shee this Examinant were killd too! & this Examinant <B> saith that among other words they then said Morice ô Regane kild her,
