The examanation of Mahan O boye of Killownton neare Bandon aged about forty being duly examaned and sworne saith that in January 1642 he the said deponant Liued in Tymaleage vnder Sir Roger A Shahan and that thare was A partie of English that was Cominge for A prey towards Ebane and uppon thare goinge back towards bandan Bridge they toke a pray and A partie of Sir Roger A Shahan sarunts & tennants pursued the pray & [Chalensed?] summ swine that was the said Sir Rogers & had them home with them and vppon thare Cominge backe one John Oge A Crowlay touke one John Phipes an Englishman to thee quarters & afterwards the said John Oage A Cowlay toke the said John Phips to his ffathers howse and kept him thare for sum sartan dayes not Leting Sir Roger A Shahan know of it Least he should conay the said Phips to his quarters againe but he the said Joh: Oage A Cowley did Conuay the said Phips to the Irish Campe and saith that he the deponant did heare that the said Phips was hanged and further saith that Sir Roger was uery angry with John Oage A Crowlay & the rest for breakinge quarter with the Gouernor of Bandon beinge in Leage together & further saith not
