The Examination of Mrs Honor O donovan alias Carthy late wife of Teige O downy alias Carthy taken the 13th day of September 1652
Sayeth: That aboute the begining of these Troubles shee well remembers that John fford & his sonne Robert fford with their wiues & Children came to this Examinantt husband <A> to craue his safeguard & protection which accordingly was granted them for the space of fiue or six weekes about which tyme the foresaid fford desired a Convoy for himself & the rest, to goe to the Garrison of Castlehaven: which accordingly was granted: And this Examinatt further sayeth that shee heard John fford was slaine about Gortbracke by some of McTeiges men: And further sayeth that the names of those whome this Examinantts husband apointed for the Convoy was dearmond O’Leary Thomas McKnougher & donnough O Terahan, and one Teige McKnougher who wais dead: And this Examinantt further sayeth that shee was informed, that some of the Convoy had some of the money & goods that was ffords: And further sayeth that Thomas McKnougher & donnough O Terahan retorned to this Examinantts husbands house and was with him vpon his lands as formerly: And further sayeth not
