Onorah Shea late servant to William Woods late of kilhominy in the Countie of Cork yeoman & now servant vnto John Clement of Carrigroghan in the same County sworne & examined deposeth & saith That about one fortnight after Midsomer 1650 shee this deponent was a servant and lived with the said William Woods when & where in the night certeine Rebellious persons to the number of threescore or above whereof some of them confessing themselues were reported to be the Lord of Muskeryes souldiers & others came vnto the said William Woods howse whoe was then told them (as it was true) that he had the Lord of Muskerys protection; & offered to shew it to them, & whatt therefore desired them to vse noe violence to them him nor his family And then William Tute his sonn in law being then in the said howse vsed <A> theis words vnto them Gentlemen if it please you to stay & heare vs, wee are protected by the Lord of Muskery, & if you please you shall have meat & drinck, but they forth with tooke him by the head & carried him out of the howse without either shooes stockinge or hatt, & others of that rowt haveing it robbed the howse & stript the said William Woods & his wife children, & this deponent & the rest of his family [ ] of all their clothes saveing their shirts & smocks, They then the said Rebellious persons then & from thence alsoe forced out of the said howse him the said William Woods & forceibly carried both him & the said William Tute [ ] as this deponent hath heard to a place called Ivelery in Muskery which is seuerall myles in distance & that they hanged them to death about fowre of the clock in the afertnoone of the day following: But whoe those Rebells were or what their names are shee cannot tell onely shee hath heard some of the Irish people say that some of them they were the Lord of Muskeryes souldiers & some would say they were ffynnen mcCartyes souldiers & some would say they were the souldiers of others, Only And shee heard <B> that one Dermot ô Rearden sonn to John mc William oge ô Rearden of Castlehinch was Captaine or Comander of those Rebells
