Robert Morley of Ballineclashy in the County of Corke gent an English protestant sworne & examined aged 45 yeres or thereabouts sworne & examined deposeth and saith That about three yeres since to this deponents best remembrance one William Woods & William Tute of <A> killominy in the county of Cork were robbed & taken away prisoners as this deponent hath credibly heard, & beleeveth fully) when they hadd the Lord of Muskeries protection for their staying there safely which protection this deponent hath seen in writing vnder the hand of the Lord of Muskery to whom the said William Woods paid both rent & contribution. And although this deponent was not present when they were robbed taken prisoners & carried away: yet hee is in his Conscience perswaded & satisfied of the truth thereof becawse he this deponent was then a neer neighbour to them & made acquainted with the most of that which happened vnto them: And was also made acquainted therewith both by the wife of the said William Woods & by his daughter and by many others of the neighbours. Who alsoe told and averred to this deponent that one Dermot fitz John รด Reardon whoe was a Lieutenant vnder the Lord of Muskery together with one LieutenantGerrald & their Complicees also souldiers to the Lord of Muskery were the men that soe robbed & tooke the said William Woods & William Tute prisoners & carried them away as farr as the borders of Ivelary within the Barrony of Muskery & there or not farr from thence within a <B> day or two hanged them both to death: And this deponent verely beleeveth the said Reports & averrments to bee in all things true, And welknoweth that at that tyme the Lord of Muskery then Commanded all the forcs thereabouts And beleeveth that his Lordship might have brought the Murtherers & actors aforesaid to triall Judgment & execution for the same if soe he had pleased, But this

<C> deponent for his owne part not seeing any care the said Lord of Muskery tooke to make good his protections given to the English his tennants, & this deponent Liveing amongst his Lordships forcs fledd away with his familty to the Barrony of Kinsale Kinneleagh nere Kinsale (where he yet liveth) to save his Life:
