4/ Depositions taken Concerning James Mallifant, of South Waters Land Neere Kinsale Afforsaide in the yeare 1641
Rich: Cossoins of Kinsale Aged about 30: yeares beinge sworne and Examined saith hee Knew <1> the said James Mallifant Liuinge in his then Howse att South Waters Land afforesaid and that when the Irish campe was at Belgooly neere Kinsale the saide Malifant Left his Howsse and went thether His <said Howsse> beinge of A Considerable Strength And Joyned with the Rebells there and Continued forth vntill the tyme of Ormonds peace by him made and further saith that it was then Generally <2> reported that his sonn William Mallifant Bore Armes with the Irish in the Lord Muskerryes Troope dureing which tyme this Deponent Continued att Kinsale and obserued the same which is the cause of his Knowledge and further saith not, Taken before us
