John West of Crahard neare Belturbut in the Countie of Cauan gent An English protistant duly sworne deposeth that vpon the 24. 25 and 26. daies of october Last Certaine Rebbells by name vnknowe to this deponent came from the Campe of Phillipe mc hugh mc Shane o Realey of Belenacarrige in the parish of Castle Terra; in the Countie of Cauan beinge then within a mile of this deponent and Robbed at the seuerall daies Aboue said this deponent of Cattle to the valew of 160 li. furniture for husbandrie and houshould goods with butter and Ceese to the valeew of 62 li. Corne and hey in the haggard worth 20 li. Corne newly sowne worth 10li. in mony 5 li. This deponent ffurther deposeth that by reason of this rebellion he hath lost money due vnto him 4 li. and Comming from Belterbert toward the Cittie of Dublin was by Rebbells vnder the Command of Phillipe mc hugh mc Shane desposed of Cloathes belonginge to himselfe his wife and children to the valew of twentie pounds and money 5 li._10 s. to his losse in all of 28 li.__10 s. this deponent further saith that said Rebells who robbed his his house as Aforsaid tould this deponent that they would carry the said goods to the Camp or army aforesaid of Phillipe McHugh McShane O Realey and further this deponent saith that he his wife and eight Children were come nere Cauan in the Countie of Cavan Comming to Dublin stripped naked by the said Rebells of the said Phillipe mc Hugh mc Shane o Reley aforesaid and further that by the said Rebellion he was inforced for safety of his life to flee from and forsake one lease he held from John warren of Belturbut of halfe a pole of land Called Killedufe in the parish of Anna nere to Belturbut worth 60 li. and of one lease of an halfe pole of land caled Bun held from John Anderson of Belturbut lying in the said parish of Vrney and near to Belturbut worth 10 li. and also he this deponent was by this rebbellion dessioyed of a small portion o{f} land being part of the halfe pole of Crahard (wheron this deponent had built his house) purchased from Richard Smith residing likwise vpon the said halfe pole, his estate therin being worth 60 li. all which lands are parte of Sir Stephen Butlers proportion soe that in all this deponent hath sustained the losses of ffour hundred and eleuen pounds ten shillings
