<Kinsale ffebruary 21th 1653> Deposistions taken Concerning John Cluggin neere Cullin in the County of Tiperary gentlman
John Bullin of Ringrone in the Barronie of courceyes aged 60: yeares beinge sworne and Examined saith that in the first yeare of the Rebellion that hee Liued at the <1)> Bruff castle in the county of Lymerik with Mr Edw: Standish that they Afforsaid John Lacy came to the said Bruff Castle and surprized it and kept the said mr standish prisnor with one Engl: man more named ffran: Jackson and kept the said Castle with Men and Armes against the Engl: and the said mr standish Prisner for two years <4)> That by force and violence hee tooke away all the goods of mr standish
The cause of his knowledge is that hee Liued in the afforsaid castle belonging to Mr standish and Afterwards to the Lady standish his Mother In lymerike
This Deponent further saith that there was the Lord Bourke Morris Boggitt & Doctor Higgins that that were out in actuall Rebellion at that time that Liud in the said County of Lymerike and that the said ffran: Jackson is further to bee Enquired for because hee went away with Lacy as his seruant and when the Lord Inchiquoone tooke the said Braff Castle for the parliament there was one Eng: man More which came alonge with the said Jackson for Corke and after the said Jackson left Corke and went Returned to his master the said John Lacey then an Irish Rebell [ ] Liuing now with the said Lacey at neere Cullin in the County of Tiperary
