<Mallow March 9th 1653> Depositions taken Concerninge Dermo{d} McShane Callaghane of GarrimaCoony in the Barrony of Duhallow and County of Corke in the yeare 1641
Tho: Basely of Mallow Aged about 32 years beinge sworne and Examined Saith that hee Liued as afforesaid in the yeare 41 and that hee knew the afforesaid Dermond Mc Shane Liuinge as afforesaid in the yeare 41
That the said Dermond McShane was in Actuall Armes with the Eneimy and had Likewise 3 sonnes in Actuall Rebellion the same yeare
The Cause of this deponent knowledge is that hee beinge a soldier for the English and did often See the said Dermond Mc Shanes Sonnes in Actuall Armes and this deponent was att the takinge of the Castle wherein the said Dermond Mc Shane and his Sonnes were in opposition to the English and farther saith not
