<Mallow March 7th 1653> Depositions taken Concerninge Donogh O Callahane Alias รณ Callahane of the Barrony of Dwohallow in the yeare 41
William Arnell of Mallow in the County of Corke Gentleman Aged about 36 yeares beinge Sworne and Examined Saith that hee Liued att Mallow in the yeare 41
That hee was in Actuall Armes with the Eneimy and had Comand of a Company the same yeare
The Cause of this deponent Knowledge is that hee saw the afforesaid Callahane att the hedd of his owne Company and was att the takinge of the short Castle in Mallow and afterwards tooke the great Castle which Castles was then held out by the English
