<Mallow March 7th 1653> Depositions taken Concerninge Peirce John Neagle of Monanimy in the County of Corke in the yeare 41
William Arnold of Mallow Gentleman Aged about 36 yeares beinge Sworne and Examined Saith that hee knew the afforesaid Neagle Liuinge as afforesaid the same yeare and
That hee the said John Neagle was in Actuall Armes with the Eneimy in the yeare 41 and since was Kild
That hee had A Brother named Peirce Neagle which was also in Armes in the yeare 51 and since the decease of his brother hee the said Peirce hath inJoyed his Brothers Estate
The Cause of this deponent Knowledge is that when the Irish Came to Burne the Garrison of Mallow that then the afforesaid Neagle was Kild and that hee was brought into Mallow d ead and att last the Irish they obtained L eaue oppertunity to Carry his Corps to KillMallow
