<Mallow March 11th 1653> Deposions taken Concerninge John Roch of Castle Keiuane in the Barrony of ffermoy in the yeare 1641
Morrice Roch of Kiluragh in the Barrony of ffermoy Aged about 48 yeares beinge Sworne and Examined Saith that hee Knew the afforesaid Roch Liuinge as afforesaid the Same yeare
<1)> That hee might haue Remoued into the English Quarters as at his Neighbours did
<2)> That hee Remoued into the Irish quarters and Continued there the space of A certaine time
<3)> That hee did Actually Contribute Asistance to the Eneimy the Same yeare
<5)> That hee was both att publique & priuate meetings with the Eneimy the Same yeare dureing being in Castletowne
<10)> That hee had Sonnes in Actuall Armes with the Eneimy affter the yeare 41
<11)> That there was of English Liuinge neere this deponent Captain Hargill since dead John Lachford now Liuinge neere Corke John Groues Now in the County of Tippary & William Grove Esquire of Calurdowgane now liueing
The Cause of this deponent knowledge is that hee Liuinge as afforesaid the yeare 41 and was put in possesion of the afforesaid John Roch his Castle by order from the Lord Inchiquin the afforesaid John Roch beinge Remoued from thence and Runne to A Castle then defended by the Eneimy and was afterwards taken prisoner when the said Castle then defended by the Enemy was taken by the Lord Inchiquin and was the said Roch was by order from the afforesaid Lord Comitted prisoner into the Custody of this deponent
