<(1)> The Examinacion of Ann mc Canne wife of James Noland Cooke of the Maze in Com. Downe aged 30. yeares or therabouts the 2d. May 1653
Whoe saith that shee was seruant to Mr Henry Stanway of Glancann in Com. of Armagh at the Begining of the Rebellion, & Saith that the first Sunday morninge after, Bryan mc Carbry oge mc Cann now in prison at Carrigfergus tooke her her said Master as he was going to church, and possessed, with some of the Irish, vnder his comaund his house, & comitted him and his wife & children to their chambers as this Examinante heard being then from hoame at the Lurgan <A> and at her returne found it soe, And the said Captain mc Bryan mc Cann, & his father, & mother & seuerall of his, they kept her said Master & his familie prisoners aboue 2 Months after, and then sent them to Armagh, where her said Master & some of the Children dyed, And being demanded if shee saw any protestants killed, Saith Robert Bamber [he] husbandman whoe liued next house to her Master was hanged by Owen mc Clane, & Donel mc Crany, 2 of the said Bryan mc Cans men, whoe were vnder his comaund, as were the rest of the Irish of the Parish there, And being further examined if she knew of any killed at Armagh, Sayth shee hard of diuers massacred there, but her Master dyinge she came from thence before the Towne was burnt and the killing of the people, And further Saith not;
