The Examination of Rob: Merriman of Lecale aged 70: yeers or there about taken the 7th May 1653
Who being sworne sayeth that in the second yeere of the Rebellion, he <B> being in his sonn Nicholas his house neer Ardglasse newes came to him, that four Irish men were killed in Ardglasse whereupon this Examinat went to Ardglasse where his wyfe and family were and there saw some two of the foresayd foure men lying dead, That he asked was told by Ed: Jackson that the men were killed by Capt Wools command. That afterward the sayd Capt Wool told this examinat that he had gott orders from his superior officer for the killing of the foresayd men And further he sayeth not
