The examinacion of Rowland Browne of Downepatrick in Com: Downe aged four{ty} yeares or thereabouts taken 3 June 1653
Who being duely examined vpon oath saith that he was one of those that kept out the Lord Cromwells house in Downe aforesaid from the Irish & that during the time <A> of there being there, there was kild by them Irish Abraham Hempton & Dorothy his wife Anne Betts alias Athy Phill Corryes Edm Erwin Rob: Homes & one Anne whose sirname he knowes not according being all Inhabitants in Downe aforesaid according as he heard it generally reported by the rest of the Inhabitants then remaining And being demanded who if he knew who was in the party of the said Irish which came to Downe as aforesaid saith he saw the Lord Maginis Rory Maginis, Con oge O Neale Donell Maginis now in prison Patt: mc Cartan, Euer Maginis, & heard by a generall report that Owen mc Cartan was there but And further saith not
