The Examinacion of Rorie ô Deaghan of Culfaghtrim parish labourer taken before vs at Colerane the said nynth day of March 1652
<49:> Who being duely sworne & examined saith That soone after the Murder at Portnaw he was present & did see & behold when Tirlagh oge ô Donnell now <A> liveing in Raghrie & Phelomy ô Boyle since gone for ffrance did robb & stripp William Erwin & his wife at the Saltpanns neere Ballycastle That after the said William & his wife were stript he the said William run vnto the sea side close by the Saltpanns & his wife followed him And the said Tirlagh oge ô Donnell & Phelomy ô Boyle & others whom he doth not know followed them, vpon which the said William & his wife for safety of their lives wadeing into the sea the said Phelomy ô Boyle strooke his pike into the said William Erwins necke & held him vnder water therewith vntill he was drowned And the said William Erwins wife at the same time comeing backe out of the Sea the said Tirlagh ô Donnell threw a great stone vpon her head & knocked her downe soe she likewise was drowned as the same time And further he saith not
